Title: Meddling With Petals

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Call me a sucker, but I actually took this picture for my girlfriend a long while ago. πŸ™‚ I was walking back from a photoshoot and saw this one lonely petal on the ground and when I looked closer I saw that it looked like a heart! So like any good sucker I decided to take a picture of it and sending it to my girlfriend at the time! πŸ™‚ Apparently she likes that sort of thing since we are engaged now and to be married in less than four months! I’m excited!!!! πŸ™‚ Hope you enjoy this picture as much as I do πŸ™‚ And if you have that special someone, send them this picture (I give you full permission!) to let them know that you ❀ them! πŸ™‚

Come Lily Come

20121221-134456.jpg

Title: Come Lily Come

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana,

Description: This picture is a pretty cool one! It was taken a while back when it was still warm outside (wait never mind…Here in Indiana it got up in the 60’s today… so it’s still warm) Silly weather… Anyway, this little lily pad was in a little zen garden near Grace College. The reason for the name is because I sorely wanted this Lily to just pop through so I could get a picture of its brilliance, but I never had the chance… Sad day! Anyway, I still love this picture, and I hope you will too! πŸ™‚

It’s A Slow Fade

20121218-000246.jpg

Title: It’s a Slow Fade

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Well the name for this one is actually inspired by a great song by Casting Crowns. Back in the day Casting Crowns was the biggest contemporary Christian band in the US, but it seems like they have gone behind the scenes now that they aren’t coming out with as much music, but anyway, this song is about the “Slow Fade” of the human condition. It says that people never crumble in a day, and it’s the second glances toward sin and the bad thoughts that invade our mind that slowly turn us down a path that we don’t want to go. Such an amazing song… Here is the link to the song if you would like to listen to it: Slow Fade by Casting Crowns. And below are the lyrics if you would like to read through them, or glance at them while you listen. πŸ™‚

Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to grayΒ
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to grayΒ
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

Alright if you have made it this far then I will tell you why this picture is named “Slow Fade.” See, this plant is growing outside of my dorm, and this is what it looks like now that it is winter. It is slowly dying, and the original color is slowly fading, but it’s taking a long time. Eventually though, this plant will die… But it will be renewed during the Spring! Oh happy day! πŸ˜› Hope you enjoyed this picture and this post! Thanks for reading!

The League Of Buds

20121219-125837.jpg

Title: The League of Buds

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Alright, so I don’t know why this title makes me laugh so much but for some reason it does! Just the name “League of Buds” makes me think of a group of people that are buddies. Where “League” infers a tight knit group and “Buds” infers that they are good friends. Of course that’s not what this picture shows… Instead it shows a more literal meaning of the title where “League” infers many and “Buds” infers….. Well the buds of these flowers! Clever, I know! πŸ˜› I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did! Hahaha.

Thoughts Of A Better Time

Title: Thoughts of a Better Time

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Ahh…. The title of this piece is important. Thoughts of a better time when the sun actually shines, the flowers are in full bloom, rain graces the earth instead of snow, and the grass is lush and green…. This picture reminds me of those times in the spring and summer! I miss the terribly… Today here in Winona Lake, Indiana is the first day that it has been under 0 degrees with wind chill… It almost made me cry this morning but I stayed strong! And instead went out and bought a winter hat! πŸ™‚ I may have shopaholics syndrome…. Shh it’s a secret! Anyway, hope you enjoy this picture and for those of you who are in the cold like I am I hope this reminds you of times past πŸ˜›

Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination

Title: Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Alright, so it’s about time that I start getting into doing these Weekly Photo Challenges again! I’ve gone quite a few weeks without them and I miss them! So here in this weeks on Illumination! I was unsure of which picture I should choose for this week. I have a few different ones that would have worked, but I love this picture a LOT! This is an edit to a flower I did on my iPad. The flower is originally white and maroon, but through some editing took and my obvious genius (Just kidding, haha!) I was able to change a few colors and cause the blue so sort of “illuminate” the rest of the flower πŸ™‚ I love it! And I hope you do too!

Natural Fireworks

Title: Natural Fireworks

Place: Chicago, Illinois

Description: It’s about time that I have a post from somewhere other than Winona Lake! I took this picture while in Chicago this past summer with my girlfriend, now fiancee. We had a BLAST! It was my first time to Chicago. It was fun to see the all of the art and architecture there. Anyway, this flower was such an interesting one that I found in one of the many parks in downtown Chicago. When I saw it I just had to take a picture. It reminds me of a firework in flower form! πŸ˜› Let me know what you think of it! πŸ™‚
