It’s A Slow Fade

20121218-000246.jpg

Title: It’s a Slow Fade

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Well the name for this one is actually inspired by a great song by Casting Crowns. Back in the day Casting Crowns was the biggest contemporary Christian band in the US, but it seems like they have gone behind the scenes now that they aren’t coming out with as much music, but anyway, this song is about the “Slow Fade” of the human condition. It says that people never crumble in a day, and it’s the second glances toward sin and the bad thoughts that invade our mind that slowly turn us down a path that we don’t want to go. Such an amazing song… Here is the link to the song if you would like to listen to it: Slow Fade by Casting Crowns. And below are the lyrics if you would like to read through them, or glance at them while you listen. 🙂

Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

Alright if you have made it this far then I will tell you why this picture is named “Slow Fade.” See, this plant is growing outside of my dorm, and this is what it looks like now that it is winter. It is slowly dying, and the original color is slowly fading, but it’s taking a long time. Eventually though, this plant will die… But it will be renewed during the Spring! Oh happy day! 😛 Hope you enjoyed this picture and this post! Thanks for reading!

New Camera, Better Content, Unedited!

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: Well well well, look what the new camera brought in! About a week ago my fiancee and I decided to go out and take a bunch of pictures together with my new camera. I think all in all I took about 500 pictures, but that’s beside the point. I got some AMAZING pictures of the last few fall leaves before they were all gone. I also got some amazing pictures of my fiancee 😛 (If she lets me, I might put some of those pictures up, because I normally don’t take good pictures of people, but somehow these turned out great!) Anyway, the picture above is of one of the trees we saw while on our excursion. I loved it SO MUCH that I didn’t even edit it at all! I hope you like it! I took it while laying down on the grass. 😛 Let me know what you think!

Happenstance Silhouette

Title: Happenstance Silhouette

Place: Winona Lake, Indiana

Description: There isn’t a ton that is special about this picture. I just love silhouettes and this one is definitely one of my favorites. I just love how you can see every single pitch black branch coming from the huge trunk. The only thing I would change (if I changed anything at all) it would be the color of the sky on the top right of the photo. It bothers me that it is not white 😛 but what can a person do! Hahaha. Hope you enjoy this silhouette! Cheers!

Hidden Splendor

Title: Hidden Splendor

Place: Niagara Falls, Canada

Description: Well… If you have been following along in my blog you know that I got engaged in Niagara Falls, Canada recently. Of course, being the photographer I am, I took a lot of pictures while there, especially while my fiancée was on the phone with the better half of the countries residents, hahaha! Juuuust kidding. But really she was on the phone with her uncle and so I had some time to get up close and personal with this plant. I took far too many pictures of it, but this was definitely one of my favorites, especially once I added selective color to it! What do you think of it? Is it weird that I chose one of the background leaves to color? 🙂 Let me know your thoughts!

Description: this was a leaf that I found while taking pictures with my fiancée this week. Such a beautiful leaf with its bright red veins! I loved it so much and knew exactly what I was going to do with the picture. I hope you guys enjoy it as well! 🙂
